CSP has a variety of composite formulations – each a unique combination of polymers, fiber, and fillers. Each of these three ingredient categories present opportunities for more sustainable alternatives to traditional sources. Our Materials Development team is working on these opportunities every day.

Bio-based and Recycled Polymers
Traditional polymers used in our composites are derived from petroleum, but there are more sustainable alternatives available, including bio-based and recycled polymers.
Recycled and Natural Fibers
The primary reinforcement in our composites comes from glass fibers. Recycled glass fibers are being explored as well as other fiber types including natural fibers.
Recycled and Natural Filler
Different mineral fillers are used to either add functionality or reduce cost. Both recycled and bio-based alternatives are being explored to improve the sustainability of our composites.
